3 Dimensional Prescriptions dropped earlier this month and already has earned a spot on my rotation list. The album is a collaborative effort by Oh No of Gangrene and TriState of Durag Dynasty. The album has some dope features including Hus Kingpin, Evidence, Rogue Venom and Washeyi Choir to name a few. Here is my track by track breakdown. At the end of the review is a link to the album on Bandcamp. Go cop that, listen along and tell us what you think about 3 Dimensional Prescriptions. Check it out!

1. Intro

What can I say? Relevant to the project but It’s an intro.

2. Showroom Floor
This is a good opening song and really sets the tone of the entire project. There’s something a little off on the beat to flow cohesiveness but I’m willing to overlook it because the wordplay is ill.

3. Custom (feat. Hus Kingpin, Lyric Jones & WestSideGunn)
This is a dope track. The chemistry between the artists flows nicely. This is a smooth track. My one complaint was placement. I felt such a laid back song was a bit early in the track listing *In rotation

4. Networth
I’m digging this. I really like the vibe on this one. *In rotation

5. G.T.D. (feat. Xiomara)
This is probably one of my favorite tracks on the album which is surprising because when it started my first thought was “this is going to be one of those sing songy tracks” that I don’t like. But it works. *In heavy rotation.

6. 6 Sun Raise Son (feat. Casual, Brotha J & Bro AA Rasheed)
I’m digging this. It has a real throwback feel to it. I fuck with this. *In rotation

7. Wind Chime Wizardry (feat. Planet Asia)
Another good track. Planet Asia is ill on this.

8. Imhotep
This was just an okay track to me. I think it might be the placement though. I have to play the project on shuffle and see how I feel.

9. Movie Script (feat. Rogue Venom)
This song is dope. Rogue Venom was on my radar since the collab with Butta Rico and you can hear the artist growth. *In rotation

10. Tears on my Nautica (feat. Washeyi Choir)
This is another track that gets heavy replay from me. And yes, I realize this goes against my Scy no singing rule but you know how I like to break the rules…even my own! *In rotation

11. Spaceship
Hungry hungry hippo. I love the wordplay on this track. I fuck with it.

12. Write Wrongs (feat. Gangrene)
I was waiting on a Gangrene track and they did not disappoint. I really like the beat on this too. *In rotation

13. Latest Drug (feat. Washeyi Choir)
Washeyi Choir is starting to become a good look on collabs for me. *In heavy rotation

14. Exit Thru the Gift Shop (feat. Evidence)
I’m was already a fan of Evidence but I have to say if I wasn’t Evidence would now be on my radar. This is an excellent closing track and I appreciate the somewhat pickup in level. *In heavy rotation

Okay after listening to this project I have to say if this is what 2017 has to offer then I am on board with that. This is a solid project that already has earned some replay value on my daily mix. I have several tracks in rotation. Now you know I have to be 100 with you guys, despite how much of a fan I am of any artist when doing a review. Yes this was ill but my only complaint is that on a 14-track album I do need a change in tempo to keep me interested. While the tracks as standalone songs are, all good I really would have liked to have heard a hype track here and there. So that has affected my score on an otherwise dope project. The overall tone was pretty laid back through the entire album which can get monotonous. I do understand the vibe they were trying to convey but with an album called 3 Dimensional Prescriptions I thought everything from the production to the hype level would have been a bit more…multifarious. The album is definitely worth the cop and listen and if you haven’t heard it yet…Go get that now! If this is what a TriState and Oh No collaboration sounds like then I hope to hear more of them in the future. You won’t be disappointed. Scy approved!

Overall: B+
