Jay Electronica – #TBE The Curse of Mayweather

jayelect
When Jay Electronica dropped a few years back with those Just Blaze tracks I was very impressed. Fast forward to 2016 and we still don’t have an album. Here’s my point. Jay Elec has been on hiatus for a while and decides to come back with a diss track? He said he wanted to slap 50’s eyeballs out and called himself Kendrick‘s daddy. Either Jay is planning to release an album soon or he’s looking to get back into the hip hop scene. Either way, Jay should focus on making music and releasing an album before he disses people who have paid dues in this rap shit. This is coming from a fan of Jay Electronica. I will be buying his album if it ever drops. Although, I think we’ll get a Tribe Called Quest album before that happens. Can Jay Kick It? Yes, just do it sometime within the next decade or retire like Mayweather. Bless.

50 Cent – Body Bags – CDS – 2015

50 is back with The Kanan Tape, which must mean 3 new joints in arabic or some shit. The new mixtape dropping VIA DatPiff tomorrow. Not sure if these are all freestyles or if a few are original tracks. Whatever your reason for peeping this, I suggest not holding your breath if you are a true Curtis fan. Hopefully he proves me wrong. I have no problem eating my words as long as it’s something with longevity.

Freddie Gibbs ft 50 Cent – Cuffin Season [Smu RMX]

freddiegibbs709la08

Freddie Gibbs & Madlib’s Pinata Collaboration Album has been in rotation for me for quite some time and made me a true fan of Gibbs in the end. His street style Raps remind me of the old 50 Cent when he wasn’t signed to Interscope just yet.
So I thought why not throw them on a record together.
This Record belongs to Fabolous from his 3rd Soul Tape entry (which i personally enjoy the most out of all of Fabolous Material) but i replaced him with Gibbs for my Take.

Gibbs Verse comes from a Track called “Terrorist”,50’s Verse is an original verse that he recorded for the Remix.

If you get a chance do listen to “Pinata” it’s a very good project. If you are a Fan of Madlib’s Beats you can purchase the Instumental LP too.

Run Yo Sh**! (Season Of The Vic)

First and foremost I want to make it clear that the 7th Boro does not promote violence of any kind. The post you are about to read is for entertainment purposes only. (Slapping a wack rapper is definitely okay though…especially if it’s open handed!)

Now that I got the disclaimer out of the way….What the hell is going on with these wack rappers?(Notice I didn’t use the term MC!) Some of these videos of guys in jeggings and crocs really need to stop!

I know it’s a new generation and we have to be open to change but enough is enough! I remember the days when Hip Hop was about Carharts and Starter Jackets…now it’s about neon sneakers and getting your eyebrows done. What ever happened to the good ol’ NYC fight music. The music that DJs wouldn’t play in the club because they knew the crowd would get crazy hype? The music that you would never play with your mom in the car because she’d smack the shit out you? That good old tuck your chain music.

I’ve compiled some of my favorite “Stick Up” tracks so we can reflect on those days when rappers didn’t wear lip gloss and beauty supply sandals. This is dedicated to the MCs that are grinding and that would love to slap a wack rapper. continue

This DATE in Hip Hop (8 yrs ago)

50 CentGet Rich Or Die Trying: On February 4, 2003, 50 dropped his debut studio album. At a time when he was dominating the mixtape scene and gaining a buzz with his “diss everyone” track, people wondered if an album can match his mixtape success. Em and Dre snatched him up with a 1 million dollar deal and he got rich. This album had the raw and gritty Fif with a hunger to dominate Hip Hop. He made a very smooth transition from the street mixtapes to an incredibly successful first studio album that surpassed all expectations.

Production on the album included: Dr. Dre, Mike Elizondo, Sha Money XL, Eminem, Mr. Porter, Red Spyda, Reef, and Rockwilder.

It featured guest appearances from Lloyd Banks, Young Buck, Tony Yayo, Eminem, and Nate Dogg.

This album was filled with bangers. It had a dynamic intro, “What Up Gangsta?”… a suspensful and dark track, “Many Men”…. street and hood life anthems, “High All the Time”, “Heat”, “If I Can’t…. insanely successful tracks, “In Da Club, “Wanksta”, “P.I.M.P”… a hateful diss track, “Back Down”…my favorite verses (BY FAR) came from a couple collab tracks with an out of his mind Eminem, “Patiently Waiting” and “Don’t Push Me”
